Dec 312010

Last year I did this survey and decided to do it again, just slightly modified here and there.

1. What did you do that you’d never done before?

Met a longtime close friend in person; Visited the state he lives in a few times;  Saw Ground Zero; Made a permanent lifestyle change

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I’m not big on resolutions on New Years. It’s kinda silly for me.

3. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?

More sex. A reliable car. A job I like. (My answers from last year are still quite valid) – Others: A bigger apartment

4. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory?

The month of May in general; June 1st

5. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Ha! Oh boy did I ever. (again, last year’s answer is still quite valid. Different injuries & illness but that will always be a constant with me)

6. What was the best thing you bought?

My android-based smartphone. It’s my favorite material possession.

7. Where did most of your money go?

Bills/rent/living expenses/Sephora

8. What did you get really, really excited about?

My March trip to NYC; Seeing my bff in May; My phone;

9. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Both in some ways. But my mental state is complicated – to put it mildly, I’m a psychiatrist’s nightmare/dream lately
b) thinner or fatter? Proud to say that I’m thinner. By nearly 45 pounds.
c) richer or poorer? No idea

10. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Be more social (in many ways); proper blogging

11. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Eat; freak out; waste time on projects and people that weren’t worth it

12. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I guess I’ll have to say that finally committing and succeeding at making a change in my life with diet and exercise is the top winner. I’ve tried in the past, but never succeeded. I don’t consider my current spot on the “journey” success, exactly, I’m not near enough my goal weight to admit that one.

13. What was your biggest failure?

The Sex Blogger Co-op and handling multiple blogging projects in general.

14. How many one-night stands?

None

15. What was your favorite TV program?

I’ve had a couple – Just discovered Bones and The C Word and NCIS; Castle, Grey’s, Glee, Weeds and others rank in my faves

16. What was the best book you read?

“Confessions of a Carb Queen” by Susan Blech really opened my eyes; I found a few new authors I like – Caprice Crane, Liza Palmer

17. What did you want and get?

My phone!

18. What did you want and not get?

My stove replaced; peace of mind; More money / better job; sanity

19. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

More stability with my brain chemistry.

20. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?

A mix of casual and fashionable, girly and femme.

21. What kept you sane?

My hub, my friend

22. Who did you miss?

24. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010:

I can’t do it all myself

25. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

So raise your glass if you are wrong
In all the right ways
All my underdogs
We will never be never be anything but loud
And nitty gritty dirty little freaks

~ Raise Your Glass, Pink

My hopes for 2011

  • That I learn to let go and let be with this weight loss, and stop being OCD and anxiety ridden over every little thing
  • That I allow myself to have fun and do the social events I avoided in 2010, and realize that others don’t see me as I see me
  • That I reach my goal weight by the end of 2011
  • That I learn to do what I can and nothing more in this blogging world; There’s no awards to win, no friends to win, no grand finale, no end game – accept that some people “do” and some people “take” and to walk away before my resentment encompasses everything.
  • Be less of a Yes-Woman. Let someone else be the do-er, and stop being used by so-called friends. Learn that friendships made and relied upon via what I can do for them are not true friendships and let them go and learn to say “no”.

Extase Liberte Vibrator

When I saw the Extase Liberte clit vibe come up in the new products list at EF, I was intrigued. I read the sole review (the descriptive review) and the reviewers said that the vibe was both powerful (4 vrooms!) and deep/thuddy/rumbly (they’ve said this both on their EF review and their site). Silly me for trusting a single review, but I bought the toy with high hopes.

If you want to read my in-depth review that’s over at EF, here’s the link to it. I wanted to include some photos of everything, because while I don’t like this vibrator and I think that the original reviewers were way off in calling the vibrator deep/thuddy/rumbly, it’s still a good vibrator. Hint: If you liked Lelo’s Mia, you’ll like this one.

While I fully appreciate that vibration intensity perceptions are just that- personal perceptions – it disappoints me greatly when the type of vibration is described incorrectly. This vibe is buzzy as hell, surface only even on the pulsation settings that seem like they might kinda be thuddy. It’s not overpoweringly buzzy though, it won’t numb you unless you’re extremely sensitive. I think it’s probably very slightly less surface buzzy than Lelo Mia, and maybe has a little more oomph to it, but I couldn’t successfully get off with this vibrator.

Anyways, here’s the photos of it. I have to say that the bag that comes with it ranks in my Top 3 of all time favorite luxury sex toy bags. It’s a really soft faux brushed suede with a great closure. Right now it’s being repurposed as a mini jewelry bag for traveling :P

Blogging prompts for the sex blogger world are really lacking, lately. If there are any I don’t know about them – so point me to them! When you can’t find what you’re looking for (if you’re me, at least) you create your own. So I’m creating my own! Starting in January on Sunday/Monday (very flexible with the day) I’m going to be writing about various body parts / erogenous zones and my take on them; if they’re erogenous for me, and if so how and if not why they aren’t. If you’d like to join me in doing this then go ahead and blog your own version and let me know about it. Feel free to link to my post so that others who read yours can join in.

I haven’t yet decided the order of things. Random? Start at the top? Start at the bottom? My list of body parts/sections:

  • Feet & Ankles
  • Legs (as a whole, I guess? Or should I divide it up between lower legs + knees and then thighs? If I divide it up, then ankles will be part of lower legs….thoughts?)
  • Ass
  • Back
  • Hands
  • Arms
  • Sex organs – write about what you have, not your partner
  • Chest/Breasts
  • Neck & Head
  • Face

If you think you’d participate in some/all of these – Too many? Should I combine some? Divide it up further? For those who’d like to join in – This is meant to be a writing exercise, not another photo meme. I won’t have a word count, though. Write as little or as much as you want on the subject. There will be one every week.

Final Schedule:

  • Head & Neck – Week of Jan 2nd
  • Face – Week of Jan 9th
  • Hands & Feet – Week of Jan 16th
  • Chest/Breasts & Back – Week of Jan 23rd
  • Arms – Week of Jan 30th
  • Legs – Week of Feb 6th
  • Sex Organs (yours, not your partner) – Week of Feb 13th
  • Ass – Week of Feb 20th

If you decide to join in on any given week, please comment on my post for that week (not this one, as it’ll soon be buried), mine will always go up on Sundays. If you want to tell others about this writing prompt, link to this post as it has the schedule and the info. Just an FYI – Your post doesn’t have to go up on Sunday, anybody can join in that week or you can even be late if you’ve just come across this writing prompt late into the game and you see topics you’d like to write about. All I ask though is that you don’t skip ahead ;)

A Quick Thank You

I’ve seen that a few people have purchased their (presumed) holiday sex toys through my affiliate links, and I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am, the extra little bit helps especially since a few of my advertisers have gone MIA.

But I also wanted to say: Please don’t be shy, email me and tell me what you bought and if you liked it! I’m always so curious about these things.

Also, I’ve had the Yahoo Pingbox (look for the Y button over in the sidebar) turned off mostly out of forgetfulness but it’s on this week in case anybody has any last minute sex toy questions :)

My mind wandered the other day, thinking about my upcoming trip in April.

I think I’ll ask her to bring a skirt for sure. And maybe a dress. You know….easy access. Will it be too cold in early April for the hotel’s outdoor pool to be open? I conjured up a few naughty things in my head of pool activities. Pity there’s not an indoor one.

Maybe we’ll go drive somewhere and park and mess around in my back seat. Two chicks wearing nothing but easy access dresses, making out in the back seat…I wonder how far we’ll get before we’re spotted in the bad sort of way and made to leave wherever we are?

The Devine Playchest, when it first came out, was in combo’s of only pink and black. Mostly pink with black accents, or vice versa. I purchased the Black with Pink Accents and reviewed it here. While I DO like black and pink together, I have to admit I would have really preferred an all-black version.

*pouts*

And now they have it.

I wish I could trade mine in.

Another toy that’s been redesigned is the Acuvibe – it’s now in all black too. I wanna trade my old style in.
