I am equally emotional and logical. Artistic and scientific. Many times those poles fight with each other in my brain as to who’s right. So I found this article posted on WebMD to be quite interesting.
Basically, studies were done showing a group of young men photos of women – The same woman was perceived to be more sexy in the photo of her against the red background. Time and again, whether the other background was white or a bright color, red won out. They didn’t think the red complimented, it wasn’t consciously about the red background. Subconsciously it said to their brain “This is more sexy!!”
The women in red scored higher in being attractive and being sexually attractive; men also said they would spend the more money on the women in red than those in other colors.
It seems that color — red or otherwise — did not play a role in how likable, kind, or intelligent men perceived the women in the photos to be.

I would like to note as well here that both men and women were shown photos, and the “red effect” seemed to only affect men.
So tell me why 4 out of 4 women that offered up their opinions on helping me pick this week’s HNT all chose the photo below? The other choices were: the same photo but partially black and white (red accented); photos of me in a sexy black bra. The red won!
However, researchers write in an article presented with the findings that the “red-sex link” could be solely societal conditioning.
Red has long been associated with love, lust, and desire in history and literature. Images of the “red-light” district, red Valentine’s hearts, and more come to mind. And as far back as ancient Egypt women have painted their lips red to appear more attractive.

As much as I *adore* b/w, sometimes color in the right situation is just brilliant and awesome. And that is def the case in this photo.

I’m reminded of these lyrics by Rush: “I see red / It hurts my head.” But in this case, in a good way. Red definitely profoundly affects me, whether it be the color of a woman’s dress, her hair, or her lipstick. I see red, I swoon. This includes your very beautiful photographic example above.

I have the same things going on in my head. I have tons of polar opposites always fighting in my head about things. Red is my favorite color. I found this post very interesting. I thought about it and things with red always catch my eye and always appeal to me more. I always just figured it was because red was my favorite color but perhaps that’s only part of it. Maybe there’s a guy in my brain. That would explain some things, lol. ;)

Oh my golly goodness! This is absolutely luscious! I think they were testing women with photos of men against red backgrounds. You are just lucky enough to know at least 4 women who appreciate a hot woman against a red background!

Very nicely taken. I like the up turned look like point of view of an intimate person standing near to you your holding your breasts like that as if an offering is very powerful as well. Is that your natural lip color? It looks natural.

I think it’s true that red has always been pushed as the “sexy” color… linked with love and lust. Personally, I do find red sexy. It makes a striking color in photography especially if it the only color there. Lovely HNT
