Geek-Love, Kink-Love and Sparklies!

One of the things I just love about the internet is that you can find anything. And even though most days I can’t spend a dime I get caught up in looking at stuff that I do want. Just to drool and daydream.

One place that is really interesting is Etsy.com. It is basically a place for crafty people who make things to sell their wares online. No business crap is required, just yourself. And my god some people are selling the weirdest shit….but flipside is that there’s also some really awesome stuff.

The following are some things I’ve found there recently that I really quite like, but are not things I would buy for myself….you’ll see why. (linking to items that are sold already, but the seller makes more – just didn’t want to link to something that they might sell soon and i think the link would change)

Geek-love

My geekiness isn’t just related to computers and electronics. Science stuff is very fascinating to me, too. Particularly brain chemistry. I spent so much of my life knowing I was “different”….my brain didn’t think the way most other kids did; teachers and adults would shake their head in disbelief at me – how I could do this but not that. Because I’m female, and my version of ADD isn’t the “hyper little boy acting out” shit, it was never picked up on. Until I did research as an adult.  Once I read about the major “mental illnesses” it was simple to figure out that I was ADD and always had been. But the more research I’ve done, and the more I’m put on a medication that’s not quite right for me, I’m realizing that these labels are just kinda dumb. You can find six of us who are, truly, ADD or ADHD, and we’ll be on different meds or reacting differently. I’ve done a lot of research and theorizing on brain chemistry. The levels of each of the three are what makes up your personality. I get along with others who have a lower level of dopamine. It may not be enough that they’re in need of meds to change the skew, but its their personality and how they think and process.

Wow, anyways, that was a long-ass tangent. Sorry about that. Basically I’m all about the dopamine, lol. This really unique jewelry maker has done up pendants/earrings that are based on the molecular structure of certain chemicals including serotonin, dopamine, chocolate and caffeine. They’re beautiful, unique and high quality handmade items, so they’re not cheap. I’ve a soft spot for the dopamine pendant, for the reasons it pertains to me and the fact that its the chemical activated when we’re doing something pleasurable – sex, kissing, eating chocolate, etc. Getting one of these from someone special would mean a lot more than any expensive diamond jewelry or some such.  View it here.

Kink-Love

Ever since I’ve begun delving more into D/s, both sides of it, I keep coming across the practice of the dominant “collaring” their submissive when it’s a longterm or serious/meaningful relationship. Shows “ownership”. Many will give their submissive an item that they can wear everyday – something that to vanilla folks will just appear to be pretty/unique jewelry.  Two common things are “O” rings and bracelets/necklaces that the clasp is a mini lock – it can effectively be locked on, not removable by the sub. I like the idea because it serves as a little tangible reminder to the sub, at all times, of his/her dominant and the relationship.

A very nice and simple ring, the “O” ring is a symbolic thing from the Story of O.

tiffanybracelet

Now this one I didn’t see any on Etsy….and so yes I KNOW it’s Tiffany and it’s way overpriced, but it was the best representation I could find. It’s really simple and pretty.

Sparklies!

I get drawn to shiny, sparkly things. I am normally not a gal who will ever covet a lot of diamond jewelry but when I see it in the cases in the stores, the lights hitting it right and they’re all polished and clean and just dazzling….then I covet one.

This one is something that satisfies the sparklies, as well as the kink, and it’s a hell of a lot more affordable!

And this vibrator….well….part of me wants it because it’s beautiful. The other part says “Are you kidding me? that much money for a vibrator…..do you know your track record with misplacing things??”   I do have a thing for black diamonds. Yeah I know. It’s 2 grand. Never in this lifetime will I be rich enough to drop 2 fuckin grand on something this frivolous.

  1. FYI, you can find a really good replica of the Tiffany’s bracelet on EvesAddiction.com :)
I’m pretty sure I remember it being about $30 for the small version, and $80 for the heavier one.

~ nice! I’ll have to check that out! But then, maybe not, as I certainly wouldn’t buy myself one and I’m not in any D/s relationship of that sort. Thanks for the info :)

Wouldn’t diamonds on one’s delicate girly parts hurt like hell? I know it takes a lot for you to get off, Lil, but isn’t grinding your clit into powder taking things a bit too far?

~ Silly boy, the diamonds are at the top where you would hold it……lol
