It’s Thursday, and I’m Half Nekkid (shocker, eh?)

I don’t want to say these were rescued from the cutting room floor, but they kinda were. They were not in my original “pile” of keepers.

……………

Is there any woman alive who is not her own worst enemy, her harshest critic, her blind eye?

I happen to think Kim Kardashian is Sex Goddess Incarnate, but I have to wonder what she sees when she looks in the mirror. Of course, I’ve read the snarky mud-slinging cast about, calling her “fat” (holymotherofgod, if anyone says that in my presence I’ll fucking kick their ass clear into next Tuesday) but perhaps they are jealous? Either that or brainwashed ‘tards who believe that the perfect female form most resembles that of a 12 year old boy.

If you watch television at all you may have noticed some different ads from Dove, promoting a more realistic view of the beautiful woman. They also have programs and funds and workshops to try to reverse the mindset fashion has sunk into young girls of what “beautiful” should look like. I was most moved by this video, I have screen caps below here for those who can’t watch right now, but you really really should watch the fast-forward evolution. “No Wonder Our Perception of Beauty is Distorted”

Before Makeup: …. ….After Contouring Makeup………………

….After Photo Editing…..….Why is this better?

I am all for makeup, it makes us feel better. Some women don’t agree on that, that’s just fine. But come on, the photo editing?? Made her face thinner, an oval shape all soft and feminine. Elongated her neck. Raised her brows and made her eyes closer together. It’s no wonder we’ll never look like the models. They’re creations!

  1. I’m certainly glad these were rescued. I really like the bra :)

  2. The blue is so very pretty and feminine!

  3. they have done studies that suggest that flipping through just one magazine can seriously alter one’s perception and idea about what is considered beautiful…

    cosmo sucks, you rock!

~ Oh I totally believe that. Not only are there the ads that fuck with little girls, its the pop princesses who are all about the glam/sexy look, too.

  4. I think these are perfectly lovely shots. But I understand that internal critic. And it’s so much stronger than external feedback.

I’ve seen the video and I love it. Fortunately, men are not so persuaded into the unrealistic standard of beauty as women, I find.

  5. Well, you know I’ll love any picture that features your lips or your breasts. :-) You won’t be hearing any criticism from me about your pictures.

    HHNT, beautiful!

  6. I have enough pics on the “cutting room floor” to understand your hesitancy… but then the first pic is breathtaking… and that is as much about your luscious lips and lovely hair as anything more obvious.

I can never understand the photographic recreation of models. To me, nothing will ever compare with a real natural woman. My wife can never understand why I find her untouched, sleepy first-thing-in-the-morning face so much lovelier than her work face.

~ I can’t understand that either, I chalked it up to “love is blind”, lol.

  7. “Is there any woman alive who is not her own worst enemy, her harshest critic, her blind eye?”

If there is such a woman- I’d love to meet her. Because my guess is *no* there probably isn’t. And I’ve seen this Dove video. I find it rather sad. That we’re ‘shown’ what we “should” think is *attractive* even though it’s all retouched, contoured & changed. There’s so much to be said for natural beauty. *sigh*

But enough of my words- because I’m loving these pics of you. I luv your pose … your lacy bra is simply gorgeous…. and your mouth and lips are beautiful.

Happy *TRULY beautiful* HNT to you, sexy girl :)

  8. Why do i feel the need to rest my head upon those wonderful, soft and tender breasts of yours?? hehe. Both pictures are stunning and i`m glad you rescued them from the cutting room floor!
    A very HHNT

  9. Well I’m surely tickled you saved them!!

I need that skinny making photo editor too!!!

  10. Beautiful as always…

I’ve always used the word ‘pretty’ to describe ‘catwalk’ beauty–the beauty used to sell. True beautiful in my mind is the one who looks beautiful no matter what state she’s in, the kind of beautiful you want to wake up next to…

~ spoken like a man in love ;)

  11. Deviant Little Devil says:

    Stunning as always sweetheart.

Society does need to realize that the media has distorted our perceptions, but I fear it will only get worse.

  12. Enjoyed your “discarded” pictures. :) As for the pursuit of perfection, I do NOT like thin ladies. I like ladies with meat on their bones. I don’t mind muscular or well-toned women, just no bony asses please. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. HHNT!

  13. you and cake are on similar thought processes this week, and I like the way all this ‘editing’* is being chastised. It is not on, it should not continue. I haven’t watched your vid, but there was something sounding similar on the box a while ago that showed all the photo retouching that goes on. I think it is criminal.

I am in a minority amongst women in being pretty happy with my body, but I don’t like photographs of me AT ALL. I think that just goes to prove that even those who are not wanting to change their figure can be ‘poisoned’ by the portrayal of women in the media.

Good HNT, and you look fabulous.

  14. I must agree with you and it so nice to see the ads more geared towards something other than than what the world tells us we should be..
As always, you capture sexiness perfectly!

    HHNT

  15. Give me “real” over the model look any day. Trust me, I (and most guys I know) are going to choose you over that Photshopped model every time. For the most part, it’s women who find that look appealing, not men.

I love that “crawling towards me” pose!

~ Half of me agrees with you Riff and half of me doesn’t. I see so many men drool over so many models and celebs, the photoshopped photos. Half of the pretty celebs aren’t that great in the “grocery store” pics that the trashrags catch….well, except for Angelina Jolie :D

  16. They should have been keepers.

    Love the blue……

    HHNT

  17. *nodding vigorously in agreement*

First of all, I’m really glad you rescued these shots. Especially the B&W one.

But more than that, I want to echo your sentiments on the ludicrous notion of the
“perfect” female form. Every woman is unique, and trying to make her conform to some arbitrary standard like a show dog is more than just demeaning; it’s completely unnecessary.

The most beautiful woman in the world is the one who’s comfortable in her own skin.

  18. I think we need to start a “Cleavage of the Day” group blog. Want to join?

    Very nice pics.

  19. ohh my! this blue bra drive me crazy!!

  20. Dragon Mage says:

I’m certainly glad you saved these pics (and showed them to us) ^_^ Stunning as always.

  21. You look stunning. You look like you’re on the hunt, on the prowl…very sexy. Crawling towards your prey.

    Happy HNT

  22. The one on the bottom looks like she’s made out of plastic – I prefer my women to be made of flesh. You might as well just get a mannequin once you’ve gone that far.

I’m off to scour your cutting room floor more often!

  23. Both photos are lovely, I really love the first one. You look beautiful.
    Happy HNT!!

  24. Hehe the black and white one reminds me of a “under the sheets and about to have fun kitty on the prowl” .. don’t ask me why tis my warped mind… great minds think alike eh? … society is killing out kids with images of fake beauty, people start to believe there is such a thing as perfect … xxx HHNT!

  25. I have seen those time lapse transformations. It is amazing how we have distorted what was already beautiful in some vain attempt to capture perfection. I have two daughters, I am afraid of what they will face as pressure in the future. I tell them all the time that they are wonderful just the way they are.

Speaking of lovely just the way you are … HHNT. Excellent photos! I have posted the photos you sent on my site for the second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month “buck a boob” campaign. Thank you again!

~ I worry too about the girls…I know that “girls today” dress too sexy, too young as compared to when I was their age (god I feel old saying that). The emphasis on sex appeal is vastly magnified every year.

  26. I’m hot for you just the way you are!

  27. These are incredible pictures, sometimes the ones you least expect can be the best ones.

And for the makeup, IMHO, it is to accentuate what you have not create a new you.

  28. Yeah, I’ve seen that video before and it’s just ridiculous. As if we weren’t obsessed with physical attractiveness enough as it is, now we’ve become so accustomed to PhotoShopped photos every where that we rarely see real beauty on billboards or in magazines. :(
